How to automatically file signed documents into Xero

If you use Xero, the real time-sink is not signing a document. It is everything that happens afterwards: downloading the signed PDF, finding the right contact in Xero, and uploading it as an attachment. Multiply that across every agreement, and it is hours a month plus the documents that quietly never get filed.

Here is how to make signed documents file themselves into Xero, automatically.

Step 1: Connect Xero to SignAndGo

In SignAndGo, go to Settings, Integrations, and click Connect to Xero. Authorise the organisation you want. If you run several entities, you can connect each of them, even across different Xero logins. Setup takes about two minutes.

Step 2: Turn on auto-filing

Switch on "Auto-file signed PDFs to Xero". From now on, every completed document is attached to the matching Xero contact automatically. SignAndGo matches the signer to a Xero contact by email address.

Step 3 (optional): Create contacts for new signers

If you onboard new people, turn on "Create a Xero contact if the signer is new". When someone who is not yet in Xero signs, their contact is created automatically and the signed document is filed against it. This is what turns onboarding from a chore into a non-event.

Step 4: Send as normal

Send your document for signing the way you always have. When it is signed, the PDF lands on the signer's Xero contact within seconds, in the organisation you chose. Open the contact in Xero and the document is there under Attachments.
